The Kroma 5-Day Reset: Couples Edition + Hawaii-Bound

It’s been a little over a year since I’ve done the Kroma 5-Day Reset (review HERE) and this time around, it couldn’t have arrived at a more optimal moment. After a particular busy season of holiday commitments, project deadlines, meetings and events, our family planned a trip to Hawaii and this five-day system was the perfect opportunity for Tyler and I to rebalance our bodies and prepare for a lot of running around, exploring and, of course, time on the beach. Although we both prioritize healthy eating, the rapid-fire pacing of our schedules can sometimes make it nearly impossible to ensure we’re getting proper nutrition throughout the day. From super early mornings and more than an occasional skipped lunchtime to rushed dinners later at night than we’d prefer, sustaining this type of lifestyle can leave your body feeling frazzled, bloated and unrested. 

I’ve never done any sort of meal plan with my husband so embracing the Kroma 5-Day Reset together was fun. We both love to cook the majority of our family meals at home, making aligning on this front an effortless endeavor. What I love most about Kroma The Reset is how luxurious and unrestrictive it feels. From the gorgeous packaging to the veritable array of nutritional options throughout the day, this program truly nourishes while helping to curb cravings and shed a few pounds (both of us lost 5 each!) along the way. 

Kroma 5-Day Reset Experience

The Kroma 5-Day Reset experience, designed in tandem with Dr. Will Cole, features 9 color-coded packets per day that are refreshingly customizable. For the lattes and smoothies and morning porridge, you can add your choice of plant-based milk (I, personally use A2 milk as that’s what works best with my body) and fruits and for the lunch and dinner bone broths, you can add vegetables, protein (lean chicken or beef is what we did) and even ghee for some extra fortification. Before we started, Tyler ran to the store to pick up these extras specifically, so it would be seamless for us all week…grateful to have married a man who does the grocery shopping. 

The full spectrum of flavors that the Kroma 5-Day Reset offers is so refreshing; the lattes are subtly sweet with an intricate layer of spices to keep the tastebuds interested and the bone broth is exceptionally savory and satisfying. That fact that everything comes in its own packet makes it easy to continue the Reset while at work or out for the day. Additionally, even though my husband and I have very different appetites (his being much more robust than mine), we both felt well fed during the five days of Kroma. 

Here are some personal tips for the Kroma 5-Day Reset:

(1) Use the vessels as they make everything so easy…the Deluxe Reset comes with a metal shaker cup for the smoothies and lattes (so convenient) and a smaller metal tumbler for the bone both (also apropos for the Cranberry Hydration Elixir and Supergreens Fuel) on the go. The Reset also comes with a frother and bag so you can always prepare your meals in a moment. 

(2) Don’t forget about the OMG Cookie Butter (actually, trust me, you won’t). This delicious concoction is a perfect mid-day pick me up and really feels indulgent despite the clean and high performance ingredients.

The Results:

I’ve been a beauty writer for over 12 years and, while safety in the products I choose to use has always been a crucial focus for me, it’s exciting to see the increase in consumers actively having conversations about ingredients and transparency in the beauty industry. What’s equally refreshing is when a beauty brand goes above and beyond to conduct an array of third-party safety studies not required by law to thoroughly establish performance standards and further validate customer trust. 

GrandeLASH-MD: When Research and Efficacy Converge

Such is the case with Grande Cosmetics, which I’ve been using since before I started Beauty Professor. Known internationally for its efficacious lash and brow serums, Grande continues to lead the way in clinical studies, making GrandeLASH-MD one of the most-studied lash serums on the market. However, social media ostensibly has helped contribute to the excessively blurry boundaries between information (proven facts), misinformation (information that is inaccurate or confused) and disinformation (involving a deliberate attempt to mislead) and no brand, however upstanding, is immune from the scrutiny that can stem from trending content.

THE INGREDIENTS 

With over 60,000 5-star reviews and 10 million units sold, GrandeLASH-MD delivers proven results. 

Cruelty-free and paraben-free, GrandeLASH-MD is powered by performance-based ingredients that actually work. The formula features Isopropyl Cloprostenate – a prostaglandin analogue that helps to enhance the appearance of eyelashes – plus other key players like Radish Root Ferment, Grape Seed Extract, Amino Acids, Hyaluronic Acid, and Honey & Aloe Vera, which all work safely and synergistically together to bring you longer, thicker, and healthier looking lashes in 4-6 weeks. 

Now, when it comes to lash serums, the most well known prescription and cosmetic formulas contain prostaglandin analogues, however, there is a notable difference between each category. Prescription formulas contain a much higher concentration of prostaglandin analogues. Past studies of prescription lash serums have found that prostaglandin analogues at the concentration only seen in prescription lash serums can cause irritation, and although rare, over time can cause iris color change or periorbital fat loss. 

These concerns do not fully translate to cosmetic lash formulas, such as GrandeLASH-MD, with the level of Isopropyl Cloprostenate (a form of a prostaglandin analogue) at a much lower concentration. To dispel some common myths circulating social media and to ensure the safety of GrandeLASH-MD, Grande Cosmetics recently conducted their largest clinical study to date!

THE LATEST RESEARCH

GrandeLASH-MD underwent an extensive 8-month third-party clinical study and toxicological review of its formula and individual ingredients. The clinical study featured 120 participants (this is an exceptionally significant sample size, by the way) who used GrandeLASH-MD as directed and the results proved that the formula is:

-Safe for use as directed

-Does not cause periorbital fat loss 

-It does not cause iris color change

-Does not cause long-term sensitivities 

-Safe for contact lens wearers

-Ophthalmologist tested

In summation, of the 120 individuals in the study, only 2 participants discontinued use due to transient adverse events where symptoms resolved. Additionally Grande Cosmetics has conducted 10 other third-party safety studies—from Toxicological Risk Assessments and RIPT to HET-CAM and In-Use Home Studies and results consistently and conclusively prove that the ingredients in GrandeLASH-MD are safe for intended use.

When a company chooses to engage in an impressive battery of elective research to continually demonstrate product safety, such transparency should be commended and, as an avid GrandeLASH-MD consumer, these studies reinforce the trust I’ve had in the brand since the beginning.

HOW I USE IT

As a contact lens wearer, I am inordinately careful with what I subject my sensitive eyes to and in over a decade of regular use, GrandeLASH-MD has never caused discomfort or irritation. I apply the GrandeLASH-MD to my upper lashes in a single swipe (like a liquid eyeliner) and make sure my brows get a dose of the GrandeBROW before going to bed. 

MY RESULTS

As aforementioned, I’ve used Grande serums for well over a decade and my lashes and brows have never been better. Every time I am consistent with my routine, my lashes are enhanced and my brows are feathery and thriving. A Luxurious Deep Dive Into French Skincare: Orlane

When it comes to skincare, Orlane has a created a stable of offerings that address both general goals and specific concerns, making it an ideal line for anyone looking to take their visage to the next level. I’ve used many of the formulas nearly 10 years and am always pleased with the quality and consistency of my results.

Most recently, Orlane’s release of the B21 Extraordinaire Dark Spot Radiance Serum (also available at Orlane) is an answer to all those seeking the most even complexion possible. Catalyzed by the potent 21 Amino Acids of the Pale Blue Iris, this serum preemptively addresses the causes of age spots while brightening dark spots and hyperpigmentation with regular usage. Chantecaille Real Bronze

A lush and buttery brown tan tone that instantly enlivens the face, this compact is pure luxury.

RMS Blush in French Rose

I love all of the blushes in this formula (Crystal Slipper and Bohemian Girl on repeat) and this cool pink is beyond! It has lush pigment and a glowing finish that allows you to skip highlighter if you wish.

Sisley Eye Concealer 4.5

One of my favorite concealers of life, I love that this formula has expanded its shade range and this  shade conceals, brightens and restores my orbital region and beyond with zero creasing. It’s a cult classic for a reason!

Viseart Palette Isolde

I have loved Viseart since the earliest days of Beauty Professor and this latest palette is perfection. Rife with cool neutral lilac and taupe shades, it has magnificent color payoff while resisting creasing.

Two coats and my lashes are long and lush…just sublime.

Sacheu Beauty Lip Liner in PINKED

This lip stain has a precise applicator to create lip liner borders…after 10 minutes, wipe off and lips are defined for hours on end.

If you’re looking for an ultra smooth deep nude lip liner, this long lasting gem is the one.

Sisley Lip Twist in Ballet

A tender peach-meets-pink-meets-nude, this is a hydrating matte with plenty of pigment. I applied it in the center of my lips (on top of the deeper Anna Sui Everlasting Rouge) to enhance fullness and volume.

Anna Sui Everlasting Rouge in 700 Antique Beige

Full impact color in a lightweight liquid that lasts? Yes, please! This shade is a rich neutral (worn later in this post) that I suspect will be universally flattering on all skin tones.

Brimming with colors that you will want to reach for every single day, the Natasha Denona Hy-Per Natural Face Palette: is magnificent. I’ve already used it several times since receiving earlier this month and I even used it on Joey’s eyes for her gymnastics showcase. If I had to choose just one Natasha Denona palette, it would be this one, without question!

// OTHER ESSENTIALS //

Anna Sui Beauty Kit

This kit has a vintage-meets-modern energy…the lucite box is gorgeous for storing beauty treasures and the mirror, hairbrush and eyelash curler are utilitarian musts that you’ll reach for on the daily.

Slip Queen Pillowcase in Seashell

It’s rare to find a patterned 100% silk pillowcase and but this one checks all the boxes. I love the delicate detailing and rich peach tone.

Slip Jetsetter Travel Pillow in Black

I travel a lot and have yet to find a neck pillow I would deem wonderful. Enter SLIP: this extra silky version has clean lines and a supportive design that takes sleeping on a plane to an opulent level.

Sisley Ginko Gua Sha Tool

Happy Mother’s Day weekend! Being a mom is one of my greatest blessings and I hope you are able to celebrate the mother figures in your life. How is the month treating you? • Happiness Runs Tank (in M/L): I have this tank in at least 10 colors. The ribbed version allows you to skip a bra and I love anything in a vibrant green.
• Rag & Bone Loose Jeans (size 27): These jeans are ultra soft and flow with the perfect amount of drape. I could have worn my usual 26 but sized up as I wanted them to be extra loose. They are destined to be wardrobe classics!
• New Balance Trainers: Lightweight and inordinately comfortable, these shoes are weekly go-to’s. I love my New Balance so much that I think about to purge my closet of all Nike’s. It’s that serious.

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has arrived and, for the 11th year in a row, I just finished shopping the first day in person; consequently, here is a comprehensive look at what I picked up as well as a mindfully curated list of recommendations to help you navigate this annual shopping event. In terms of access, here is a breakdown of the dates:

• July 9-14: Early Access for cardmembers with Icon status.
• July 10-14: Early Access for cardmembers with Ambassador status.
• On July 11-14: Early Access for cardmembers with Influencer status.

When deciding on what to purchase, I consistently choose to focus on classic pieces that I can wear frequently and especially on campus when I return (as a full time Professor of Communication and Department Chair) at the end of August. This time around, I styled four specific looks, balanced by some glorious discoveries in the sunglasses and beauty departments.

A Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Shopping Guide: Timeless, Classic Style for Fall and Beyond

Look #1: New Neutrals 

This sophisticated L’Agence blouse (wearing a size large) is a gorgeous shade of olive with chain detailing and I paired it with some high-waisted, bootcut, L’Agence jeans (size 26), a Reiss wool camel coat (size 6…will wear this forever) and endlessly chic Stuart Weitzman sock booties in a cashmere beige shade (run TTS). I also integrated these Ray-Ban rectangular sunglasses (under $100!) in the most gorgeous shade of bronze along with a gold necklace with semi-precious green stones (perfect with my existing neck stack).

Look #2: Basics Redefined

I love a good cardigan and this one by L’Agence features a black and tan color way with Chanel-inspired detailing and structured shoulders…truly unique yet timeless. I paired it with a black tank (love that this one has a built in shelf bra…wearing a small), some relaxed denim by R13 (size 25 and not a part of the sale, however, this is my favorite jean brand ever and it’s available at Nordstrom) and the Ray-Ban rectangular sunglasses. While shopping, I became intrigued with these 1980s-style Autrey Reelwind Sneakers (run TTS), which have impeccable ivory and green accents. They are well crafted and ultra comfortable and I’m glad I picked them up (though, also not technically a part of the sale).

// Beauty Break //

I picked up the Trish McEvoy Gorgeous Lip Trio, which comes with a creamy liner (Barely There), rich pink lipstick (Perfect Pink) and plush pinky nude gloss (Babe). I love all three of these formulas separately and getting the trio for $60 is a veritable steal. I’m wearing the mix throughout this entire story. I also couldn’t resist the Westman Atelier Summer Bronze Trio , which includes the glimmering peach Nectar highlight stick, Liquid Super Sheer Illuminator in Peau de Soleil (natural bronze) and Baby Cheeks Blush Stick in Dou Dou (a quintessential flush) for summer skin in seconds. For eyes, no one does long lasting cream shadow better than Bobbi Brown and this eyeshadow trio is so fresh and flattering. I also had to add more Slip Silk Scrunchies into my mix (nothing better in this department) and, if you’re looking to naturally enhance your brows and lashes this sale is the ideal time to stock up on neuBROW and neuLASH.

For skincare, the Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream Duo is a must (I’ve been using this since 2017) and I also am extremely fond of the eye masks and eye cream that come in the Augustinus Bader The Eye Rejuvenating Kit. Have you tried them yet?

From skincare to makeup to a long awaited restock of one my favorite lip colors of life, this is a beauty-centric diary entry of epic proportions.

Au Naturale LA Lip Stain

While out of town, my beloved Au Naturale lip stain in LA relaunched and I couldn’t be more elated. This perfect peachy pink hue has the lasting power of a stain and the moisture of a creamy lipstick. As is the case for all Au Naturale products, the formula is 100% clean. It is sustainably produced in small batches in Wisconsin. I love wearing it over a nude lip liner for the fresh flush that instantly brightens the face.

So pure you could eat it, LA glides over lips, helping to visibly enhance volume with full coverage color payoff and a comfortable longwear finish that is gorgeous on its own or in tandem with other shades. It has been a handbag staple for me for nearly 3 years and I am so grateful that Au Naturale, after moving into a new lab and production facility this summer, is able to produce this gem of a shade again. Onto the products I packed and used while traveling! Our days at the house were spent over leisurely home-cooked meals and plenty of pool time so, while I didn’t go full glam (do I ever?) with the makeup, I focused on an excess of skincare, beauty devices and multitasking color options to create a look that was polished yet protected.

// Bedside Beauty//

I like to transport all of my nightstand musts in this stunning Dior Pouch by Miami Buy the Bag. This small business repurposes designer fabric into everyday essentials and I love supporting the line. Within my bag, I carry:

Cymbiotica Topical Magnesium Oil

I have become accustomed to spraying this on my feet at night and it helps me to have extra deep sleep with no grogginess upon waking. Surprise side effect..it has completely reduced my need for deodorant (wild, but true…apparently there is a correlation).

Skinny Confidential Mouth Tape

Mouth tape is controversial at worst and double-take inducing at best. However, after months of committing to this practice, I love it. The process helps to ensure you’re breathing only through your nose at night, which leads to better sleep, brighter eyes and even a more sculpted jawline.

LYMA Laser (thoroughly reviewed here)

I am thoroughly committed to this device and my skin has never been better. It lifts, contours and brightens with every treatment.

Anfisa An-Gloss

I have run through at lest 3 tubes of this gorgeous lip product…it is intensely hydrating and nourishing and always leaves my lips feeling volumized and healthy.

ReVive Advanced Perioral Lip Serum

To target fine lines in the upper lip region, there is nothing better than this luxurious serum. Just a tiny drop nightly and you’ll notice a difference in a few weeks.

My other beauty device of choice (especially when traveling), this tool improves the look of skin on top while also firming and sculpting under the surface. The results are immediate as well as long term and I’ve been using it for nearly 4 years.

Insanely shiny with a soft pink hue, this gloss, in a word, is special.

Manucurist Active Smooth and Manucurist Active Shine

 I love this pairing to strengthen my nails while giving them a clean, reflective beige finish…this line is all I’ve been using since May!

//Cleansers + Hair//

Tower28 SOS Cleanser

An ultra gentle formula with zero fragrance to clean without stripping.

Oliva Umma Cleansing Foam

I’m on my 5th tube of this foaming cleanser that leaves my skin feeling exceptionally clean without feeling tight. It’s truly the best.

Ranavat Renewing Leave-In Treatment

For hair, I love this newer formula which smells like jasmine and deeply conditions without weighing hair down.

ROZ Foundation Mask

Lightweight and luxe, this mask delivers extra hydration in just 5 minutes…once rinsed out, my hair is detangled, smooth and volumized.

The Rootist Shampoo and Conditioner

This pairing contains hair densifying agents to add thickness and fullness to tresses of all types. Best of all, the formulas are concentrated so the bottles are small yet mighty, especially for travel.

Hask Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner

For glorious moisture and shine, this duo by Hask is magnificent. My husband and Joey use it as well and the fragrance is fresh and opulent.

//Brush Trio//

I use the Snow Fox Gua Sha Brush (use PROFESSOR10 for 10% off) to stimulate my scalp, which increases circulation and contributes to healthier hair overall. This seriously feels like a massage. To keep freshly washed hair from getting oily too quickly, I love the Vayose Brush to redistribute oils down to the lower part of my tresses. This innovative brush truly gives you an extra day or two between washings. Finally, my go-to for brushing out my hair in all other occasions is the S Hearts Brush, which I always have within arms reach. It gently detangles, stimulates the scalp and leaves my hair shiny and silky.

//FACE SKINCARE//

Despite bringing a ton of products on this trip to use, I kept my facial skincare routine fairly pared down. I used the ReVive Brightening Serum: in the day to add a cloak of brightening moisture and, if more hydration was necessary, the YOE Impossible Cream is an innovative and nourishing addition. For eyes, the Sisley-Paris Supreme Anti-Aging Eye Cream is my go-to of choice as of late. It smooths and hydrates on contact and feels silky yet lightweight, taming the look of fine lines in mere moments.

In the evening, I continue to reach for the Dr. Jason Diamond Metacine The Plasma and Dr. Jason Diamond Metacine The Emulsion, which synergistically work together to smooth, tighten and brighten skin, encouraging cell turnover without harsh side effects like dryness or peeling. It truly is wonder team!

For an errant blemish, there is nothing better than the TWIISH Zit Ain’t Cute (use Beautyprofessor for 20% off) formula, which zaps a zit in less than 24 hours. It hasn’t failed me yet! When dryness (it was 110 in the desert!) prevails, the ultra -rich, plant-based Anfisa An-Balm delivers, sealing in moisture without feeling heavy. I also love to use this as gliding formula with my LYMA Laser.

//BODY//

For the sake of organization, I’ll discuss these formulas in order of lightweight to most rich. The Uni Body Serum in Cedar Leaf Juniper Smoked Sandalwood is a weightless gel that smells like a spa while hydrating and absorbing instantly. When a glowier option is required, the Odacite C-Glow Hydra-Firm Body Oil is perfection…it firms and moisturizes so well and I actually just finished the entire bottle at time of publishing. Finally, a modern classic in the form of a fluffy cream, the Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Cream bathes skin in plush hydration while smelling like a Brazilian vacation.

//EXTRAS //

Droplette with Growth Factors Capsules

I’ve been a Droplette fan for the last 3 years (full review on BP HERE) and recently started using the Growth Factors Capsules, which help with lifting and regenerating the skin with every application.

Serum Doctor Flawless Feet System

This system changed my feet and, because of this positive transformation, I never travel without it. I am not at all exaggerating when I say that the file, which you use on dry feet, gently but robustly removes dry skin from the most parched heels and the serum turns said heels into baby skin. After seeing the change in my feet, I now have my own nail stylist using this and she loves it as well.

Lisa Eldridge Cleansing Cloth

This cloth has cotton muslin on one side and microfiber on the other to effectively remove dirt and makeup. Sometimes in the morning, I skip cleanser and just use warm water on the microfiber side to wash my face and I’m left feeling clean and balanced. It’s everything you could want from a cloth and more.

Great Oral Health Pro-Mineralizer Natural Toothpaste

I am always on the hunt for a fluoride-free toothpaste that delivers results and this one does not disappoint. The pro-mineralizing ingredients help to rebuilt dentin and enamel while fighting cavities and leaving my teeth sparkling white.

//SUNSCREEN//

Naturally, we wore a ton of sunscreen on this trip and some of the formulas I reached for most include the Bloomeffects Tulip Dew Sunscreen Serum which is lightly tinted with creamy mineral SPF protection. I also used the Iris & Romeo Weekend Skin in Warm Glow, which is also tinted but in this case carries a slightly bronzier, more olive hue. Incidentally, I am wearing it today as I type this…it’s one of my favorites of life.

For Joey Elle’s delicate skin, we use the Baby Bum Mineral SPF 50 Stick on her face and the Shwally Sun Balm Sunscreen on her body. The latter is not inexpensive but the expanse of positive reviews (plus the fact that she had zero sunburns, even after 8+ hours in the pool each day) really makes a compelling case for it.

I also really enjoyed the Soleil Toujours Lip Mask in L’Orangerie, which is a tinted lip mask-meets-gloss with SPF 40 mineral protection and the most plush nude pink glow. I like it so much that sometimes I wear it out in the evening when the sun is through making an appearance.

//THE MAKEUP//

Although I didn’t wear a full face of makeup each day, I had some content to shoot while away and we also went out to dinner a few times so here was the makeup that I reached for. I am very much in love with the versatility of the Maxine’s Revenge French Face in Light Medium Sand and Medium Warm Beige (Use Rachel10 for 10% off). I mix both shades and buff them out with the Wayne Goss F4 Brush to create a bespoke base that doesn’t crease or budge and the serum formula plays well with skin of all types.

It’s one of my most favorite beauty brand discoveries of the year! For under eye concealer, I used the Iris & Romeo Concealer 7, which is clean and creamy and it brightens without being overpowering. Cheeks were my usual lineup of Sisley-Paris Bronzer (applied with my trusty Sweed Blush Brush), Sweed Cheeky Blush, Armani Blush in Bold Pink and Makeup by Mario Cream Blush in Pink Peony. I like a natural bronzy pink glow and this array of options truly delivers.

The only highlighter I brought was the 19/99 Highlighter in Miele  (I’m on my second one) as I love the dewy honey glow it imparts on the high points of the face and I used the Tower28 SOS Spray countless times throughout the trip to refresh the complexion.

For eyes, I focused on making my brows full and feathery with the MAKE Beauty Sculpting Brow Gel Clear and MAKE Beauty Sculpting Brow Gel Cool Brown and when I wore mascara, it was a coat of the Bake Up Beauty Tarantulash Mascara, which dramatically lengthens and volumizes with minimal effort.

Finally, for lips I used either the Lisa Eldridge Lip Contour in 2C or the Tower 28 Pencil in Paint My Number and Color Me Fine (see swatches below) and lipstick rotation of Tom Ford Fascinator, my Au Naturale LA Lip Stain, my Au Naturale Trenchcoat Lip Stain (returning soon!), a special glassy pink Colorlab collaboration shade (coming soon!) and the invaluable Anfisa An-Gloss.

When I bought these, I wondered how much I would end up wearing them; life has shown me it’s multiple times a week. They instantly elevate an outfit while still being casual and comfortable.

Eclisse Neutral SPF50 Scarf

I was introduced to this company earlier in the summer and was so taken by the beauty of its oversized silk scarves which also provide SPF50 protection. They are chic way to give the neck and dec some extra defense and I always carry it in my handbag. Highly recommended!

Precisely What to Buy During the Beautylish Gift Card Event

To start, the Glamcor Riki Pretty is the vanity upgrade you didn’t know you needed. Spacious with a gorgeous spectrum lighting options, this mirror (which also comes with a magnifying mirror and phone mount) makes perfecting one’s canvas an unmitigated joy. For base, I’m loving the BY TERRY Hyaluronic Serum Concealer in 8 Golden Nude, 9 Amber Nude and 11 Deep Tan. This hyaluronic acid-rich formula is skincare focused color that really delivers. I use the two beige shades to even my skin tone and I use the deepest shade as a contour for natural look that lasts the day.

For Cheeks

For cheeks, the new Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked Evil Eye Palette is beyond. Featuring six finely milled shades to bronze, blush, highlight and set, this stunning palette creates a full face in mere moments. The tones will work for skin that ranges from light to tan (I’m medium olive) and the compact yet sturdy packaging make it excellent for travel. Speaking of which, I’ve been traveling nonstop lately and cannot recommend the adept  Sonia G. Mini Keyaki Brush Set. It’s small yet mighty! Finally, I have used the cult classic Sisley-Paris L’Orchidee Highlighting Blush Shade 1 for years and recently rediscovered it in my stash. This bronzy apricot hue instantly enlivens the complexion and takes the place of blush and bronzer while finishing skin with a delicate glow. It’s truly well worth the pursuit!

// SETS //

I adore a mini set, especially if I’m confident that I will wear everything involved and such is the case for the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Icons on the Go. Replete with a lip liner, lipstick highlighter and cream eyeshadow, all in the iconic Pillow Talk hue, this quartet is the gift to give to the neutral makeup lover in your life. The swatches, I might add, speak for themselves.

// SKINCARE ETC.//

I will forever be a silk hair tie devotee and the Slip Skinny Silk Scrunchies Ornament in Paige is an essential stocking stuffer. For the face, I’m enjoying the rich and silky Albion Flora Drip (Japanese beauty at its best) to hydrate and add a glow on contact and the Pretti 5 Night Mask (a newer brand for me) impressively restores skin while you sleep. I’ve been using the U Beauty The Sculpt Neck + Decollete Concentrate consistently and appreciate that it is fragrance free while delivering potent anti-aging benefits to an area that all of us are trying to keep in good condition and for beauty from the inside out, the The Beauty Chef Debloat & Digest Well is a supplement that maintains gut health while delivering a seriously flat stomach. Yes, please.

// EYES //

I’ve kept my recommendations in the eye category exceptionally brief because both of these products masterfully execute an endless array of looks. The Chantecaille Eye Duet in Jasmine is a lush duo that includes a velvety matte and luminous metallic, both in a neutral taupe-meets-bronze shade that is endlessly fresh and modern. For a strong pop of color that looks especially impactful on green and brown eyes, the  Natasha Denona Roxa Palette is next-level. The shimmering and metallic hues blend like a dream while the mattes are intensely buttery. Roxa is such a quintessentially ND palette and I predict it will sell out soon!

// LIPS //

For lips, I wholly recommend the lush brown Sisley-Paris Lipliner #6 Chocolat (I’ve gone through 3 over the years). As the name implies, is a rich brown that pairs so well with pinks and neutrals. Additionally, the brand new Chantecaille Lip Cristal in Pink Topaz is breathtakingly beautiful. The luminous beige-meets-rosewood has a metallic sheen that is ultra opulent and flattering and ideal for those who want a reflective finish without a glittery effect.

For deep conditioning on demand, the Natasha Denona Hy-Gen Tinted Lip Masks are a must. They impart a glossy, cellophane wash of color. It  deeply conditions the lips for a brilliant fusion of color and care. If you’re seeking a creamy matte option, allow me to put the divine Anna Sui Everlasting Rouge formula on your radar. It boasts of intense color payoff and strong lasting power that keeps lips balanced and comfortable for hours. This lip color comes in a range of wearable shades that are equal parts lovely and unique (see swatches below).

Hello, dear readers. Although I create new content daily on Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and LTK, it has been a while since my last proper post here and it feels good to be back. I truly hope you’re doing well.

It’s Been Awhile + My New Lip Collaboration

Between being a mom, two different full time jobs outside of the home, a plethora of travel and developing a haircare line, it’s been exceptionally wild but deeply wonderful. Here are some things that have going on in my life over the past few months. Keep reading for my latest dream lip collaboration with Le Metier de Beaute:

• In addition to celebrating 13 years of Beauty Professor in January, I, of course, shared my best of beauty 2024 list. It’s a really fun watch if you like long form content with plenty of detail. Also, it’s a video series I’ve been doing for almost 13 years straight!
• We returned to Hawaii and had the blessing of bringing my parents with us this time. We stayed at the Kahala (our favorite) and made memories for a lifetime.

Hair and Makeup Products

• I started the spring semester on campus (here’s my makeup routine for the first day back); I am teaching 7 classes (public speaking, mediation and negotiation, mass communication and organizational communication) and also serving as co-department chair for our Communication Studies Department. It’s a joy as always, but definitely a lot of work (especially the grading!) and I am still filming office hours blending communication with beauty as much as possible.
• The first product launch for my Académie Hair brand went into stability testing. This entire process, which I’ve been working on for the past two years, probably needs its own separate update. However, I can tell you that we are slated for official launch this year and it’s been an incredible journey thus far.

• I’ve traveled to QVC in Philadelphia two more times for on-air appearances with Manucurist Paris. I love the process of flying into the city for less than 40 hours (the Rittenhouse is my hotel of choice!) and sharing products from a brand I truly love. This combination is on my nails nonstop as of late.

• In March, I went to NYC for 40 hours to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of  Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 as a guest of beauty industry icon Kelly St. John. Kelly and I met early in my BP career when she approached me about writing beauty stories for Neiman Marcus (she was VP of Beauty) and the rest is history. It was so fun to explore the city and see dear friends (my first solo trip ever)! Also, a major honor to be included in this intimate celebration at the Baccarat Hotel…a night I will never forget.

• This month, I went to Palm Desert for spring break with my family. My husband had a board meeting so it was sunny days with Joey and my parents. Also, business dinners with my husband in the evenings.  I adore the desert and its vibe so it was a welcome respite (despite needing to film a couple campaigns) and am grateful for the time away.

• Finally, this weekend marks the official launch of my collaboration gloss with Le Metier de Beaute. A simple search of this site will show you how much I’ve loved this brand since the start of BP and it’s been a dream to create a shade now that–a after a few years of hiatus–the LMdB is back and better than ever. Read on for all the details…

Two years in development, this rosy nude pink is the shade I’ve always made. We combined an array of lip products and textures. I want something that is hydrating, shiny, has strong color payoff and immense lasting power. Is that too much to ask? Working with LMdB to create this shade has been incredibly hands on (here’s a link to a video of it in action) and I am beyond thrilled with the result.
